Suitcase - British Airways
Sarah was commissioned by British Airways to create a huge suitcase made from single use plastics.
To mark their commitment to reducing the amount of single use plastic used on their flights, BA commissioned Sarah to make this sculpture using many of the items to be discontinued, such as coffee stirrers, cutlery, blanket wrapping etc.
In addition to the plastic used on flights, Sarah also added lots of other waste plastics she has collected over the years.
Sarah says,
“One of my favourite parts is using some black shoe hangers for the ‘zip’. I’ve had boxes of these hangers in storage for years, donated to me by a closing down shoe shop so I’m thrilled to finally put them to good use!”
After being photographed at Heathrow in an aircraft hangar with a Boeing 787, the suitcase is now proudly on display at the British Airways Head Quarters.
